Now for a change of pace here on the Data Guy (Me) blog…
A bit of self-history here: The first two albums I purchased were “Macho Man” and “Cruisin'” by Village People. The next two were “Zoso” (or “IV”) by Led Zeppelin and “Left Overture” by Kansas…
And I’ve never looked back. I have a ridiculously large music collection (30K+ tracks?), subscribe to three streaming music services, and have two Internet music radio stations.
Yes, I love IT…but, before long before I ever professionally type a single key for IT I loved music…and I love finding new artists.
I’m not sure how I was first introduced to Jasmine Cain, but last year she became “new” to me. She is a committed, talented musician who is also a genuinely nice person (as are all the members of her band). She is the group’s bassist and lead vocalist…a singer who doesn’t need to be in a studio to sound great (as proven by her live Periscope videos). She is the real thing.
From the “Jasmine Cain Press Kit“:
Multi-Award winning, Sturgis, SD, native, Jasmine Cain moved to Nashville in 2003 and went to work paving the way for female fronted rock in the motorcycle events industry. Jasmine covers everything from Classic and Modern Rock to revved up Pop and Metal., but that isn’t all she is known for.. Jasmine has 6 studio albums of award winning original music with her 7th titled “Seven” slated for release in May, 2019. Jasmine has won more than 30 awards for her music and performances including: JPF Female Artist of the Year, (MCMA) 4-time Female Rock Vocalist: and NIMA Artist and 2 time Alt-Rock band of the year to name a few. Her performances (over 120 shows in 2018) are professional, stadium quality, and high energy, keeping the audience’s attention from the first note until the last.. Her songs are emotional and timeless. and her voice is strong and soul-filled. taking audiences on a supercharged ride.
“Seven” has been released…and last week the video for “Be Brave” came out. Well, enough words on a page…
Please check out the video of our interview. Learn how technology and social media have changed the music industry, how the band stepped out on the limb with a different sound on “Seven,” the story behind “Be Brave,” and a lot more:
Also, please back Jasmine Cain on Patreon, and give a listen to “Be Brave”:
Thanks, Jasmine, for taking the time to answer my questions, travel safely, and rock on! 🙂
P.S. The interview video is a bit choppy at the beginning due to cell coverage…but clears up…
